SAN FRANCISCO — Nnena Ukuku never planned to go solo.
The 2008 law school graduate wanted to be a civil litigator and accepted an offer at a firm. But the position evaporated after the market collapse, and Ukuku had to make a new plan. Her budding career as an adviser for emerging tech companies fell into place when a friend asked her to be legal counsel for his startup.
