Sean DeBruine has joined the Silicon Valley office of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton from Alston & Bird. DeBruine, who represents technology companies in patent, copyright and trade secret cases, was previously the managing partner of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld’s Silicon Valley office. Venable added seven new attorneys to its Los Angeles office by acquiring Los Angeles-based litigation boutique Weingarten Brown. The group includes founding partner, Alex Weingarten, and six associates: Eric Bakewell, Varty Defterderian, Leslie Eggers, Logan Elliott, Jeffrey Logan and Micol Sordina. All are joining the firm’s commercial litigation practice.
