2014, the year same-sex marriage is legalized in Scotland, the start of the Ukranian revolution and, perhaps finally, the year cybersecurity information-sharing legislation is enacted in the U.S.? According to a post by Steve Augustino, Jameson Dempsey and Dawn Damschen, of Kelley Drye & Warren, it’s a distinct possibility.
This week, the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence approved the Cyber Information Share Act, a “contentious” cybersecurity bill, said Augustino, Dempsey and Damschen. It would allow private companies to share information relating to cyberattacks quickly, with other organizations and the government and shield them from lawsuits for doing so.
