Smith Gambrell & Russell’s acquisition of corporate immigration boutique The Kapoor Law Group in June was one of 17 law firm combinations reported for the second quarter of the year, according to legal consultancy Altman Weil’s MergerLine.
The Kapoor Law Group’s four lawyers doubled the size of Smith Gambrell’s immigration practice. Romy Kapoor, who started his firm in 1998 as Kapoor & Associates, joined as a partner. Robert Lee, K. Liliana Loftman and Severine Luther joined as associates. Four paralegals and a legal secretary from the immigration boutique also joined Smith Gambrell.
