The London Stock Exchange Group, one of the oldest and largest stock exchanges in Europe, has tapped Kirkland & Ellis and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer to advise on its $2.7 billion acquisition of the Russell 2000 stock index from Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. Skadden and Debevoise & Plimpton are also advising on the purchase, the largest transaction in LSEG's history.
