ComScore Inc. has agreed to a $14 million settlement of class allegations that the Internet data company surreptitiously planted software into consumers’ computers to collect information about their online activity, and then sold the generalized results.

Under the terms of the settlement in Harris v. ComScore Inc., the company—which denied any wrongdoing—will also modify its disclosure statements to make clear how it gathers customer data and provide instructions on how to remove the trolling software.
