It’s summertime, which means the heat is on in-house counsel and their colleagues in human resources. While many might welcome rising temperatures and perhaps a more relaxed work atmosphere, there are heightened workplace risks that come with warmer weather and chiller attitudes.

Employers should be especially careful of workplace safety issues; for example, employees who work outdoors could face health problems once temperatures get high. Companies should also remain cognizant of dress code issues, as these could invite harassment claims and litigation risk.
