General counsel Michael Millikin continues to colead General Motors Co.’s internal investigation into its ignition-switch scandal, despite reports that his legal department has become a focus of the probe.

The news reports, such as one in Sunday’s New York Times, refer to former U.S. Attorney Anton Valukas, chairman of Jenner & Block, as heading the internal probe. But when GM announced it was opening the investigation in March, it said Valukas and Millikin would colead it.
