The investiture ceremony for incoming Delaware Court of Chancery Chancellor Andre G. Bouchard is set for May 23, Gov. Jack Markell’s office announced Tuesday. Bouchard, who was confirmed earlier this month, will be formally sworn in at the ceremony in Wilmington, Del.

The ceremony is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. at the New Castle County Courthouse, roughly six weeks after Bouchard was unanimously confirmed as chancellor by the Delaware General Assembly on April 9. Many Delaware luminaries, including Markell and state Supreme Court Chief Justice Leo E. Strine Jr., are expected to attend the event. U.S. Sens. Christopher Coons, D-Del., and Tom Carper, D-Del., attended February’s investiture ceremony for Strine, but it was not immediately known if they plan to attend Bouchard’s swearing-in.
