The recent death of Atlanta attorney Beryl Weiner brought up memories from people whose lives he touched—including another attorney who said he might not have gone to law school without a legal victory of Weiner’s more than 40 years ago.

Weiner, founding partner in the law firm of Weiner, Yancey, Dempsey & Diggs and a member of the State Bar of Georgia since 1957, died April 19 at the age of 82. Among those gathered to remember him Wednesday afternoon at The Temple was H. Lamar “Mickey” Mixson of Bondurant Mixson & Elmore. Mixson was remembering Weiner for work that wasn’t mentioned at the service or even known to Weiner’s longtime law partners.
