A Philadelphia judge has granted the request of several defendants in a defamation suit filed by Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Seamus P. McCaffery and Lise Rapaport for the entire Philadelphia trial court to recuse and an out-of-county judge to be appointed.

Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas President Judge Sheila Woods-Skipper granted the motion for recusal in Rapaport v. Intertrust GCN, and said in her one-page order Friday that a formal request for an out-of-county judge to preside over the trial would be made. Chief Justice Ronald D. Castille is charged with making the appointment.
