KAREN SANZARO, who left Alston & Bird eight years ago to join Hunton & Williams’ highly regarded technology and outsourcing practice, has returned to her former firm. Sanzaro, who is based in Washington, D.C., specializes in technology transactions and outsourcing arrangements. She will be a member of Alston & Bird’s task force on privacy and security matters—an area in which Hunton is also known for its expertise.

Baker Botts has hired McKenna Long & Aldridge litigation partner THOMAS DiBIAGIO as a partner in its white-collar defense and government investigations group in Washington, D.C. DiBiago served as U.S. attorney for Maryland until early 2005. Several months after the December 2006 dismissal of seven other U.S. attorneys under controversial circumstances, DiBiago told The New York Times he had been forced out of his post as a result of public corruption investigations he was pursuing involving associates of then–Republican Maryland Gov. Robert Ehrlich Jr. The Justice Department denied DiBiago’s claims. (Ehrlich is now senior counsel with King & Spalding in Washington, D.C.)
