Big Law to Big Gov—Jeffrey Jacobson, formerly a litigation partner with Debevoise & Plimpton, is the new director of the New Jersey Division of Law—which at about 500 lawyers is often called the state’s largest law firm.
Acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman, in announcing the appointment March 17, said Jacobson’s “extensive knowledge and experience, particularly in such areas as data protection and privacy,” was a great asset to the state agency, which provides legal representation and counsel for state departments, employees and offices.
