Last year, after more than a decade in the works, South Korea finally opened its doors to foreign law firms. More than 25 U.S.- and U.K.-based firms have announced plans to expand their operations there, creating potential opportunities for attorneys to gain valuable experience by working in this dynamic and progressive country.

As the leader of the Korea practice at a global, Am Law 20 firm, I travel to and from there frequently. I’m fortunate to represent a diverse range of Korean companies coming to the U.S. and domestic businesses going to Korea, serving as a bridge for the firms. This is mainly due to my experience and the many lessons I learned while working and living abroad.
