U.S. District Judge Ellen Segal Huvelle will take senior status in June, opening up a new seat on Washington’s federal trial court.
The D.C. Federal Law Enforcement Nominating Commission, led by Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-D.C., announced Thursday that it was accepting applications for Huvelle’s position through April 14. President Barack Obama granted Norton senatorial courtesy to recommend judicial nominees, given the city’s lack of senate representation.
