Bringing a protracted IP dispute to a close, SanDisk Corp. announced this week that a Santa Clara County jury awarded the company $28.5 million in damages for a licensing agreement breach by PNY Technologies.

SanDisk sued PNY in 2007, accusing it of infringing flash memory patents, and the companies settled in 2008. But PNY evidently didn’t cough up all the royalties it owed, prompting SanDisk to file a breach-of-contract suit in 2011.
