There’s a new pebble in the sandbox over at Tronox, the producer and marketer of mineral sands, titanium dioxide pigment and electrolytic products. Richard Muglia has been appointed as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. He will report to Tom Casey, the chairman and CEO.
This won’t be the first sandcastle Muglia will be building at Tronox. He’s been with the company as deputy general counsel since last February and will be replacing Michael Foster, who is leaving at the end of May. During Foster’s tenure, the company saw such milestones as the negotiated settlement of environmental, litigation and other liabilities from the Kerr-McGee spinoff, the structuring of a plan and ultimate emergence from bankruptcy, listing on the New York Stock Exchange and the acquisition of the Exxaro Mineral Sands business, among others.
