On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I wish to congratulate our current State Bar secretary, Rita A. Sheffey of Hunton & Williams LLP in Atlanta, on receiving the inaugural Peter Perlman Service Award, presented by the Litigation Counsel of America.
As director of her firm’s Southside Legal Center pro bono clinic and chair of the pro bono committee of the firm’s Atlanta office, Ms. Sheffey dedicates half her time to pro bono work and mentoring fellow attorneys. Also serving as vice chair of the State Bar’s Civil Legal Services Task Force and as a past president of the Atlanta Bar Association, she is well deserving of the Perlman Award, which is presented to 25 LCA Fellows who go above and beyond in commitment and service to their communities.
