PALO ALTO — Santa Clara visual computing company Nvidia Corp. is adding depth to its legal bench, elevating its longtime GC to the C-suite and bringing on an experienced general counsel to succeed him.
The company announced Tuesday that it would promote general counsel David Shannon to the newly created post of chief administrative officer. Shannon is expected to continue providing leadership on legal matters, but he will have the freedom to engage more deeply on questions that put those legal issues in context, such as business strategy. Brian Cabrera, now the GC at semiconductor design software company Synopsys Inc., will join Nvidia in February as Shannon’s replacement.
