Time Warner Cable said Tuesday it had rejected rival Charter Communications' $61.3 billion takeover bid, with the former relying on longtime outside counsel Paul Weiss for representation and the latter turning to Wachtell and Kirkland & Ellis. Should the companies end up striking a deal, a fresh round of cable industry consolidation—and a bevy of transactional assignments for other Am Law 100 firms—could follow.
