SAN FRANCISCO — For a court that adjudicates technological advances, the Federal Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals experienced plenty of its own disruption in 2013.

Three new judges, including two with strong backgrounds in patent litigation, joined the bench last year. The Supreme Court continued to take up high-profile cases from the court, including issues of patent eligibility, attorney fees and judicial deference. And Congress geared up for more patent law reform, prompting calls from some Federal Circuit judges to stop.
