Look at a map of the shale formations in Pennsylvania and it’s immediately apparent that the southeastern portion of the state is the proverbial odd man out in terms of oil and natural gas reserves.
But attorneys across the state said that, despite the physical lack of those natural resources in Southeastern Pennsylvania, the region is playing an increasingly important role in the oil and gas industry both statewide and nationwide that could turn Philadelphia into an energy hub similar to Houston.
