The Judicial Nominating Commission has submitted all four Delaware Supreme Court chief justice candidates to Gov. Jack Markell for consideration, according to a source familiar with the process. Markell is expected to meet with each candidate before sending his nomination to the General Assembly sometime next month.

The four candidates vying to succeed former Chief Justice Myron T. Steele are Delaware Supreme Court Justice Carolyn Berger, Superior Court Judge Jan R. Jurden, Court of Chancery Chancellor Leo E. Strine Jr. and Superior Court President Judge James T. Vaughn Jr.
