Gary Guzy, a top White House environmental adviser and former U.S. Environmental Protection Agency general counsel, is leaving President Barack Obama administration’s for Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C.

Guzy, who is deputy director and general counsel of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, will join Covington Jan. 21 as of counsel in its environmental, public policy and government affairs practices, the firm announced Monday. He has served the council’s deputy director and GC since 2009.
