Rovio Entertainment Ltd., the developer of the popular Angry Birds game franchise, filed a trademark infringement suit against Key Biscayne, Fla., golf equipment supplier Angry Club LLC, claiming its logo of a red A with furrowed eyebrows was too similar to the iconic birds. A Miami district judge granted Rovio’s request for a permanent injunction and ordered the company to file the necessary paperwork to abandon the name and logo by Christmas.

NOKIA PROPOSES PRICE

U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul Grewal ordered Samsung Electronics Corp. and its lawyers at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan last month to explain why they should not be sanctioned for violating a protective order meant to shield information turned over in Samsung’s patent battle with Apple Inc. Meanwhile, Nokia has already suggested a price for the offense: $50,000 a day until it’s fixed. Nokia also demands attorney fees and expenses incurred in the litigation.
