Tilleke & Gibbins Opens Three Southeast Asian Offices
Thai law firm Tilleke & Gibbins has launched offices in Myanmar, Indonesia and Laos.
The new offices will focus largely on intellectual property. The firm will focus on IP enforcement in Myanmar and Laos, while its work in Indonesia will center on patent and trademark registration.
Tilleke & Gibbins currently has two foreign lawyers and a Burmese lawyer working in Yangon, but Tilleke & Gibbins said it plans to substantially expand that office in the future. In Jakarta, the firm currently has five lawyers. A spokesman for the firm says its office in the Lao capital of Vientiane is in “startup mode” and is actively recruiting.
The Bangkok-based firm has 120 lawyers, including 19 partners. In addition to its recent launches, the firm also has offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
