The U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform presented its 2013 Judicial Leadership Achievement Award to former Delaware Superior Court Judge Peggy L. Ableman.
The award honored Ableman for leadership in raising serious questions about plaintiffs attorneys in asbestos-exposure cases not divulging any claims their client filed with an asbestos bankruptcy trust prior to pursuing recovery from a separate defendant through litigation. Ableman was also applauded by the organization for public testimony before a U.S. congressional subcommittee and state legislatures on the disclosure of trust claims.
