Korean firm Bae, Kim & Lee has added a partner in Seoul.

Jong Baek Park joins from 60-lawyer Apex, a Seoul-based firm where he served as managing partner.

Park specializes in corporate and project finance, asset securitization, and private equity work. At Bae, Kim & Lee, he will also work with the firm’s intellectual property and information technology teams to advise on open source software licenses and related compliance.

Park joined Apex in 2009 when it merged with Sewha, a corporate and litigation firm he had established in 2002.

BKL is Korea’s second-largest law firm by headcount, behind Kim & Chang.* The firm employs 360 lawyers in Seoul, Beijing, and Shanghai.

*Correction, 11/20/13: A previous version of this story mistakenly referred to Bae, Kim & Lee as Korea's third-largest law firm by headcount. In fact, it is the country's second-largest firm by that measure, according to Ministry of Justice figures. We regret the error. We have also updated the firm's headcount to include the latest numbers from a firm spokesperson.
