Squire Sanders Allies With Indonesian Firm
The 33-lawyer Melli Darsa specializes in capital markets, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions, but also advises clients on project finance and commercial law matters.
The move follows the opening of Squire Sanders’ Singapore office last year. In a statement, the firm said clients, particularly in the energy, natural resources and infrastructure spaces, are increasingly seeking advice on local law issues in Indonesia.
The association is one of several between international firms and those in Indonesia this year. Last month, Anglo-German law firm Taylor Wessing entered into an association with Jakarta-based Hanafiah Ponggawa & Partners. In September, Clyde & Co announced an alliance with seven-partner Lubis Ganie Surowidjojo. And earlier this year, DLA Piper and White & Case did the same with Ivan Almaida Baely & Firmansyah and MD & Partners, respectively.
Squire Sanders has 1,300 lawyers in 39 offices worldwide.
