Howse Williams Bowers Adds New Partner

, The Asian Lawyer

Hong Kong firm Howse Williams Bowers has added a disputes resolution partner.

Jill Wong has moved over from King & Wood Mallesons, where she was a Hong Kong-based counsel.

Wong acts for clients on contentious and non-contentious regulatory, compliance and risk management matters in Asia. She also advises on internal and regulatory investigations, as well as corporate governance, and has represented financial institutions and listed companies on issues related to money laundering, insider dealing, and other market misconduct.

Before joining former Mallesons Stephen Jaques in Hong Kong in 2011, Wong was the head of Credit Suisse Group AG’s Asia regulatory advisory group for three years. She has also worked for Clifford Chance and Allen & Overy in the past, and started her career in 1994 as legal counsel at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.

Wong is the fifth partner recruited by Howse Williams Bowers this year. The firm, which was established last year by a group of former Reed Smith Richards Butler partners, employs 45 lawyers including 19 partners.
