For Law Firms, Demand Remains the Problem
Clients still aren't buying as many hours as they once did, according to the latest LegalView Legal Market Index.
The first nine months of 2013 didn't bring much relief for law firms. While blended rates continued to rise, on average law firms had less work at least as measured by the hours clients were willing to pay for. The bright spot was the Am Law Second Hundred firms, which showed a year-over-year increase. It was small comfort as those firms represent roughly 11 percent of the market.
