Hunton & Williams Adds Bangkok Tax Partner

Richmond, Va.-based Hunton & Williams has hired a tax partner for its Bangkok office.

Chinawat Assavapokee, previously a Bangkok partner with Baker & McKenzie, advises on tax issues relating to foreign direct investment and other cross-border transactions. He has also acted for clients in litigation proceedings as well as on general commercial law matters.

Assavapokee first joined Baker & McKenzie in 1999 and became a partner in 2006.

Richmond, Va.-based Hunton & Williams now has about 50 lawyers in its Bangkok offices, including six partners. It also has Asia offices in Beijing and Tokyo. The firm has more than 800 lawyers in 19 offices worldwide.
