Beijing-based Dacheng Law Offices has received official approval from Mongolian government to open an Ulaanbaatar office.

Senior partner Lu Hada confirmed the firm’s registration of an office in Mongolia but said other details of the affiliation with Dacheng headquarters are still being worked out.

Lu will relocate from Beijing to run the office, which will be home to 21 lawyers including two Mongolian partners and five Chinese partners. A native of China’s Inner
Mongolia autonomous region, Lu is fluent in both Mandarin and Mongolian. The outpost will handle corporate transactional matters between Chinese and Mongolia companies.

The move follows Dacheng’s August expansion to Moscow, where the Chinese firm aims to explore businesses in Russia as well as other Eurasian countries.

Chinese firms Longan Law Firm and Lehman Lee & Xu also have offices in Mongolia, as do some international firms, including Allens and Hogan Lovells.
