SAN FRANCISCO — DLA Piper is helping Apple Inc. dispute claims that it infringed a Massachusetts company’s patent for video content delivery.

DLA Piper partners Mark Fowler and Christine Corbett, both based in Palo Alto, made their first filing for Apple on Monday in a case brought by Aylus Networks Inc., a privately held company founded in 2005. Filing suit in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California earlier this month, Aylus alleged that Apple TV—a device that lets users project videos, music and photos from their computers to their television screens—encroaches on its 2010 patent.
