An attorney and former partner at a litigation-funding firm has drawn a prison term for conspiring with a New Jersey broker to defraud business associates of nearly $870,000.
U.S. District Judge Dennis Cavanaugh on Monday sentenced Mathew Sheldon, formerly of The Law Funder LLC, to two-and-a-half years in prison and three years of supervised release, in addition to restitution.
