Hill Dickinson Launching in Hong Kong
British firm Hill Dickinson is opening a Hong Kong office with a partner relocated from London.
Mike Mallin, who will arrive in Hong Kong next week, advises on insurance and contractual disputes arising from maritime casualties. He recently acted for the owners and insurers of the Costa Concordia following the cruise ship's collision in January 2012. Mallin first joined Hill Dickinson in 1984 and became a partner in 1989
The Hong Kong office to which he will relocate will be in association with local firm Laracy & Co, which was set up by principal Damien Laracy in 2009 after a split with Nick Gall, his partner in the former Laracy Gall.
Hong Kong will be Liverpool-based Hill Dickinson’s second location in Asia. The firm opened a Singapore office in 2009. Hill Dickinson has around 450 lawyers in total, most of whom work in its five U.K. offices.
