excellent point. i mean, seriously, they're willing to screw over 35 hardworking people in a terrible job market just because they didn't make an extra $100K on top of the $1.6 million they got??!?!?!!!!! i would like to be shocked but the type of asshole you have to be to become a partner at wilson pretty much says it all.

  • Cutting through all the sound bites ("...serve our internal constituency?!?), the "root of the cutbacks" have more to do with the $111,860 that didn't make it into the partners' pockets last year. I wonder what their attitudes will be when their secretaries no longer have the time and attention to attend to their every need. I know some law firm partners, counsel and associates that would criticize this lack of attention by making special note in their secretarys' annual evaluation. Let's acknowledge that the true root of many cutbacks are due to the greed and lack of shame which are playing an integral role in the economic ills in this country. The headline should have read "Thirty-five secretaries were fired from Wilson Sonsini so that the profits per equity partner can hopefully be raised to $1,756,860 in 2013".
