Honorees: Duane Morris & Selvam, Heineken International, Stamford Law Corporation, Fraser and Neave, Wong Partnership, Allen & Gledhill

This deal was “strong beer”: a fast-paced corporate tussle in the booming beverage markets of Southeast Asia. It began in July 2012 with an offer by Heineken International B.V. to the board of Singapore-based conglomerate Fraser and Neave (F&N) for its interest in Asia Pacific Brewery Limited (APBL). Heineken sought 39 percent of F&N’s interest in APBL, for which it was prepared to pay S$5.1 billion (US$4.1 billion).
