Antitrust lawyers representing American Airlines from Paul Hastings and Jones Day have their work cut out for them now that the Justice Department has moved to block the company's proposed $11 billion merger with US Airways Group. For Jones Day, a longtime legal adviser to American, the assignment is among the first major aviation industry matters the firm has tackled since the 2012 death of former firm partner and onetime American in-house attorney Andrew Steinberg.
