Billionaire David Murdock, who serves as chairman and CEO of Dole Food Company, has sent a letter to the company's board proposing that he acquire the roughly 60 percent stake he does not already own. Paul Hastings is representing Murdock, whose $645 million offer for the outstanding stake values Dole at $1.1 billion overall.
