According to the latest Law Watch Managing Partner Confidence Index from Citi Private Bank's Law Firm Group, overall confidence in the state of legal industry among law firm leaders dipped slightly to start 2013 as concerns about growth in legal services demand outweighed optimism about the the U.S. economy.

What's being said

  • Better Late Than Never

    Given that it's May, indeed, mid-May, doesn't it seem a bit silly to be purporting to estimate how the year's going to go "from the beginning'? " The beginning of 2013 has seen overall confidence in the state of the legal industry dip slightly ...." And, one is left to infer that the period covered may be the first quarter (because of the comparo with the final quarter of 2012), but it's only an inference, it's not actually said. So, either this survey is totally (by this point anyway, that is, May) bogus, or it sat on someone's desk for far too long, so that, while once of news interest it can be no longer. Now that we're at the year's midpoint, how's it going? That would be news you can use.
