The two firms are advising Coda Holdings, a struggling Los Angeles-based electric car manufacturer, as it drove into bankruptcy this week in Delaware. Coda joins the ranks of other ailing green auto industry players, including Fisker Automotive, which recently hired Kirkland & Ellis as restructuring counsel.

UPDATE: 5/24/13, 5:39 p.m. EDT. The U.S. trustee’s office has filed an objection to Coda’s proposed retention of White & Case on the grounds that the firm is conflicted as a result of partner Christopher Rose’s previous role as general counsel for the debtor.
White & Case and Fox Rothschild are advising Coda Holdings as it drove into bankruptcy in Delaware on May 1.
