Two years after failed merger talks that would have propelled Reed Smith into the Texas market, the Pittsburgh-based firm is finally headed to the Lone Star State. The firm confirmed Wednesday that it has opened an office in Houston—even though it doesn’t have any attorneys on its roster there just yet.
Reed Smith’s chief marketing officer David Egan tells The Am Law Daily that the firm began building out an office in downtown Houston a few months ago. “It’s still being developed, obviously,” he says. “We aren’t in a position to talk about the specifics of the lawyers yet, but hopefully will be able to do that soon.”
