A trio of lawyers from Patton Boggs have moved to Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld’s Washington, D.C., office to expand the energy regulatory practice. The new additions are SUEDEEN KELLY, a former commissioner of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, who joins as partner and cochair of the energy regulatory group; GEORGE “CHIP” CANNON JR., who joins as a partner; and CYNTHIA MARLETTE, a former general counsel at FERC, who will work as senior counsel.

In Birmingham, Alabama, economic development attorney ALEX LEATH has moved from Balch & Bingham to Bradley Arant Boult Cummings, where he joins as a partner along with three associates. Leath works on economic development projects throughout the southeastern United States; such as his recent advisement of Volkswagen Group of America on the selection of a site for the company’s U.S. manufacturing headquarters.
