King & Spalding has nabbed Silicon Valley heavyweight JUDY OBRIEN to help expand the firm’s Redwood Shores, California office. OBrien spent two decades at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati before leaving in 2001 to co-found a venture capital fund, Incubic. She later went in-house at mobile payments company Obopay. Most recently, OBrien launched her own consulting firm, Laurel Advisers, which advised early-stage enterprises.
At King & Spalding, which she will join as a partner November 1, OBrien will advise on a range of corporate assignments, including private equity and venture capital investments, initial and follow-on public offerings, and mergers and acquisitions.
