The Am Law 100 firm, whose reputation for handling transactional work is so strong it was once paid to not get involved in hostile deals, remains busy amid what for many is a sluggish period for M&A work. Skadden is advising wireless carrier SprintNextel on its proposed $20.1 billion sale to Japan's SoftBank, while also snagging assignments on four others deals totaling nearly $5 billion this month.
