I would like to make an important correction to this story.

Kaynor was not shot in an "attempt to fend off the theft of his silver 2004 Cadillac sports utility vehicle". This was a home invasion gone wrong.

He was standing in his carport and the thugs tried toforce him to let them into his house. He resisted, not to save a car, but because his wife and 14 year old daughter were inside. The shooting came when he fought them off in attempted to protect his family.

Once down, the thugs then stole his keys and left in the 2004 SUV.
