The British firm will open in Sydney and Perth in October. Former Allens insurance practice head John Edmond will join the firm in Sydney along with fellow insurance partners Dean Carrigan and Oscar Shub. Former Allens litigation partner Jenny Thornton will join Clyde & Co in Perth.
The firm says its new Australian practice will be mainly focused on disputes, particularly those in the insurance sector. Clyde & Co, which merged last year with Barlow Lyde & Gilbert, is most well-known for its shipping and insurance practices.
