The chart below is based on The American Lawyer‘s early Am Law 100 reporting on law firm finances for 2011. Firms are plotted according to the gross revenue they took in and and the average profits per equity partner they doled out—two indicators of overall financial health. The data here is not comprehensive, but reflects those firms about whose 2011 finances The Am Law Daily and its sibling publications have published articles. As articles about other firms’ finances are written in the weeks ahead, the data related to those firms will be incorporated into this chart.

The blue plot points represent firms that qualified for the Am Law 100 last year; green plot points represent those that landed in the Am Law Second Hundred. Mouse over plot points for additional, firm-specific data, including where the firm ranked on last year’s Am Law 100 or Second Hundred, their average revenue per lawyer, and a link to the related article.
