HBO’s tech-industry-skewering comedy “Silicon Valley” has a reputation for acing the details, from showing real code on the characters’ laptop screens down to the athleisure shoes worn by the CEO of Google stand-in Hooli. It’s brought such consultants as former Twitter CEO Dick Costolo into the writers’ room, and Bay Area notables such as the Winklevoss twins make cameos on the show.

But for a group of lawyers who gathered at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius’ San Francisco office on Wednesday night, some aspects of the show’s fictional universe remain maddeningly vague.
